Necklifting (Neck Reshaping)
As early as an individual’s 20s and 30s, an increased fullness to the neck area may become noticeable, sometimes resulting in a “double-chin” appearance. As we continue to age, the skin and muscles of the neck begin to sag, creating jowls and a characteristic “turkey gobbler” appearance. Increased fat deposits in this area also contribute to this aged appearance as well.
Correction of sagging tissues in the neck is performed through a limited facelift incision and/or an incision hidden beneath the chin. Mild to moderate jowls as well as sagging skin and excess fat in the neck can be corrected via this approach. Isolated bands of tissue and excess fat in the neck may be able to be addressed via the chin incision alone. Liposuction is often combined with this procedure to maximize the rejuvenated appearance.
The results lead to a sharper neck and jawline with softening or elimination of the banding and folds seen prior to surgery. Postoperative complications are rare and pain is typically well-controlled. Call today for a free consultation to see if neckilfting is right for you!
