Skin Lesion Removal

Skin lesions come in various shapes, sizes and colors. Some are considered “beauty marks” while others are cosmetically unattractive and bothersome to patients. While many of these lesions are merely a nuisance, some may need to be biopsied or removed to ensure no underlying skin cancer is present.

Removal of moles, skin tags, acne scars, etc. can often be accomplished in the office under local anesthesia. Having the removal performed by a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon such as Dr. Colin Pero ensures your physician is well trained in diagnosis and removal of the lesion as well as reconstruction of the resulting defect. You can be sure this will be done in a manner so as to ensure a minimum of scarring with concern to camouflage the defect as best as possible.

In some instances, skin lesions may prove to be cancerous. Depending upon the type of cancer and its location, consultation with a Mohs surgeon may be necessary to ensure your best outcome. For more details on Mohs surgery and Skin Cancer Reconstruction, click here
